Shadi Ghadirian a renowned photographer in Iran held a workshop with the young women in Omids care to explore the place of women in Iranian society through photography.

Intro to Omid Foundations:

The Omid Foundations are a group of three charities registered in Iran, US and the UK that strengthen the social, economic and emotional competencies of disadvantaged young women in Iran. Omid works with young women aged 15-24 years who have been the victims of persecution, abuse, trauma and neglect. Some will have been forced into prostitution, slave labour, unwanted marriages or illegal activity. Omid provides them with the opportunities to experience a full range of life options through self-empowerment and helps them to develop a sense of self-worth and social and economic independence through a program of therapy, education and training to enable them transform their lives and work towards a better future.
