It might feel like you are only getting back to normal from CMW but believe it or not NXNE is on the horizon! We have 5 days of programming lined up at the Ranch with extended 4 am last call. This show is particularly exciting for us as it features the return of CHAMPION LOVER after nearly a year off the stage. Their first live show since the release of their debut LP. The night kicks off with a treat from Montreal in Sunrise and Good People who brand their style of music as electronic tribal rock. I am super excited to see The Kickback from Chicago bringing their dreamy brand of indie-pop to Rancho for NXNE. Out of all the acts playing the festival this is one of my favourite I have heard. Over the years I can't remember many times the festivals brought acts from Russia but this year they are bringing Hospital one of the most exciting bands of NXNE. Somewhere between dream-pop and new wave the band that recently had a chance to open for Lana Del Rey come to Canada for the first time. Not to be missed.

Then we have a treat for you from Boston in Balancer! Continuing a growing theme of the night with indie/dream-pop style stuff of the highest quality. Grizzly Bear, Of Montreal and the Antlers are listed as influences and if you go the bandcamp you can definitely hear why.

"The best Brit-Pop that was never made in Britain" is the Marvelous Beauhunks claim to fame. They have been playing for a while and are still going strong. They have their sound down to a science and if their live show is as tight we are going to be in for a treat.

CHAMPION LOVER have recently released a monster debut LP onto the world and now finally hit the stage again after almost a year away. Meticulously thought out noise punk that evolves into organized chaos on stage. This is TWM's favourite local band and we want all of you to come out and sweat with us at NXNE.
