Toronto Silent Film Festival: 1000 Laffs-Rare and Strange Comedy Shorts

It's comedy shorts day at the festival and we're saluting some of the lost then found comedies of the 1920s.

The bad boys and gals of Roaring Twenties comedy are back and anarchy reigns supreme. They told jokes without uttering a word, performed unbelievable feats of daring-do, had a complete disregard for private property or personal dignity and drove way, way too fast. These were the talented but deranged men and women that made legions of fans and influenced every comedian since. Hang out with fans favourites in rare comedies. Charley Chase is going to the movies, Buster Keaton is all at sea, Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle is at his best, and the kids from Our Gang run havoc without batting an eye. They will be joined by Max Davidson, Oliver Hardy and others in a rollicking laugh fest of monumental proportions.

Live Musical Accompaniment Artist: Laura Sgroi

Tickets: $15 ($10 Senior/Student) online or at the door

Festival runs April 7-12, Festival Pass is also available
