40th Anniversary Restoration!Tobe Hoopers influential cult classic continues the subgenre of horror films based on the life and career of Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein, which began with Alfred Hitchcocks own influential cult classic Psycho.Dark Sky Films has undertaken a series of transfers and restorations of the film since the early 1990s when the original film elements were found in a brown paper bag in the New Line vaults. None of the earlier work equals the scope or intensity of this 40th Anniversary restoration. Working with the original 16mm film, Dark Sky painstakingly scanned every frame to restore the film in 4K resolution.
