The Open Roof Festival Continues with a Screening of Ex Machina

Toronto fans of indie film and music will get another chance to watch their favourite stars under the stars, as the Open Roof Festival (ORF) returns for its sixth season, running weekly from June 17 through to August 19.

The third night of this year’s Festival continues with Guelph-born and Los Angeles-trained singer-songwriter Sam Drysdale, performing songs from his debut EP The Fight. Drysdale has been compared to John Mayer and Canada’s City and Colour. The film of the night will be Open Roof’s first ever Science Fiction film, Alex Garland’s thriller Ex Machina. This box-office darling follows a young programmer (played by About Time star Domhnall Gleeson) as he descends further into the futuristic world of artificial intelligence. A sophisiticated and thought-provoking thriller, Ex Machina will stay in your mind even after it ends.

This year, our on-site caterer, Aura by Cashew & Clive, will present a unique, accompanying menu each week— the perfect pairing for a refreshing beer from ORF’s long-standing partner Amsterdam Brewery.
