For the past seven years George Sachs has been the President of the Toronto Postcard Club, the largest such club in Canada. Postcards are fascinating pieces of history, a record of another time that we still have today. George has been speaking on the compelling hobby of postcard collecting, or deltiology, for the past few years and in this talk he will address the history of postcards from their beginning to the modern era, but will concentrate mainly on the “Golden Era” of postcards. Types of postcards, eras of usage, dating of postcards, publishers, photographers, and postcard valuation are some of the topics that will be addressed.
