Tanya Tagaq & Owen Pallett: Live at Massey Hall

Tanya Tagaq & Owen Pallet

Part of the 'Live at Massey Hall' series

Massey Hall is pleased to announce the latest concert in the third season of the Live at Massey Hall concert and film series: Tanya Tagaq and Owen Pallett on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. The concert, presented in association with Polaris Music Prize, features two recent prize recipients, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the prestigious award.

Tanya Tagaq incorporates traditional Inuit throat singing with electronica, industrial and metal influences. She’s worked with artists as varied as Björk, Kronos Quartet, Mike Patton and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and her most recent album, Animism, was awarded the 2014 Polaris Music Prize, and 2015 JUNO award for Aboriginal Recording of the Year. Oscar-nominated violinist Owen Pallett, won the first Polaris Music Prize in 2006 for He Poos Clouds, which was recorded under the moniker Final Fantasy. Captivating audiences with little more than a violin and a loop pedal, Pallett's music is created with the rigor of a classicist, but emerges as something far beyond classical music.
