Reiki Restorative

Reiki Restorative is a special opportunity to combine the healing powers of restorative yoga postures with a Japanese energy therapy called Reiki.

Restorative yoga is a powerful healing tool that reduces stress by supporting the bodys innate responses towards homeostasis and health. A wide variety of props are used to support the limbs and promote deep relaxation.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a style of palm healing, though often no actual touch is used.

In this workshop we will combine a series of restorative postures to open the heart and welcome the spring, while offering Reiki on an individual basis to promote deeper healing and stress reduction. The class will be led by Nava, with Reiki support offered by Michelle Best.

When: Saturday April 18th, 1-3 pm

Cost: $40 regular, $30 for members

Nava has been practicing yoga since she discovered it by accident as a student in Montreal. Over the years she has practiced all types of yoga, but she really found her calling in Restorative Yoga.

With a background in international development and environmental studies, Nava has traveled extensively and loves cycling, hiking and backpacking all over the world. When she's not practicing yoga or managing a studio, you can find her curled up with a book, listening to records or wandering around discovering Toronto.

At a very young age, Michelle learned the importance and value of wellness thanks to her mother who was involved in the health care system. After loved ones experienced cancer, her interest in wellness soon became a passion and she decided to pursue her 200 hour yoga certification. Since then, Michelle has become certified in healing modalities and systems including Reiki and Ayurveda and she continues to develop her knowledge through her own journey of yoga and wellness.
