Music in the Barns returns to the magnificent Artscape Wychwood Barns, Saturday November 29, 2014, for a special collaborative performance featuring renowned concert artists Moshe Hammer, violin and Cullan Bryant, piano joining forces with the Music in the Barns Chamber Ensemble. Toronto’s essential destination for groundbreaking performances outside of the traditional concert hall, Music in the Barns returns to their classical roots after last year’s hailed season of innovative, boundary pushing performances featuring 21st century Canadian composition.

This elegant evening of classical chamber music offers a sophisticated combination of repertoire that journeys from solo to chamber works, boldly opening with Beethoven’s classic ‘Moonlight’ Piano Sonata and culminating in Dvorak’s celebrated Piano Quintet in A major.  Guest performers Mr. Bryant, one of New York City’s most active collaborative pianists, and Toronto’s world-renowned violinist, Mr. Hammer, partner for an unforgettable performance of Debussy’s final composition, his Violin Sonata in G minor.

Music in the Barns is known for bringing the concert experience into new social and experiential spheres and this concert is no different. Transforming the dramatic 7,500 sq. ft. warehouse Mainspace of the Artscape Wychwood Barns, the evening’s performance will be set in-the-round for an unparalleled, up-close chamber music experience. Guests are also encouraged to enjoy a glass of wine as they take in the spectacular sounds and surroundings. As an added attraction, New York City artist, Lana Jean Israel’s (her 1985 collage image is featured on the concert poster) progressive projection designs will be on display at the post-performance reception with the artists.
