Killer B Cinema presents The Screaming Skull and Carnival of Souls! Two killer B movies for the low, low price of $5. That's right FIVE DOLLARS! And there will be trivia and prizes!

It's the month of Halloween and there will be a contest for the best B-movie Halloween costume! Come dressed as your favourite B-movie character or creature to win!

Doors (back performance space) open at 8 pm and the movies begin at 8:30 pm.

The Screaming Skull 1958 (running time 68 minutes) is a 1958 independently made American black-and-white horror film, produced by John Kneubuhl, T. Frank Woods, and John Coots, directed by Alex Nicol, that stars John Hudson, Peggy Webber, Russ Conway, and Nicol. The Screaming Skull marked Nicol's directorial debut; he decided to try it because he felt that he was not acting in the roles which he wanted.

Carnival of Souls (running time 84 minutes) is a 1962 American independent horror film starring Candace Hilligoss. The film was produced, co-written and directed by Herk Harvey for an estimated $33,000. Carnival of Souls was Harvey's only feature film and did not gain widespread attention when originally released as a double feature with The Devil's Messenger. Today, however, it is regarded as a cult classic. Its plot follows a young woman whose life is disturbed after a car accident, finding herself drawn to the pavilion of an abandoned carnival.

Set to an organ score by Gene Moore, Carnival of Souls relies more on atmosphere than on special effects to create a mood of unease and foreboding. The film has a large cult following and is occasionally screened at film and Halloween festivals. It has been cited as an important influence on the films of both David Lynch and George A. Romero.
