Julie Doiron, Adrian Teacher & The Subs, Construction & Destruction and Protruders

Julie Doiron

Queen of Sackville – and possibly indie rock in general – Julie Doiron is a national treasure. Starting off in Sub Pop’s grungy outfit Eric’s Trip before moving out in a more folksy direction and developing into something truly unique, Doiron’s songs are stark and personal, and her performances are intimate and captivating.

Adrian Teacher and the Subs

Adrian Teacher is a Vancouver based songwriter and performer best known for his work with Apollo Ghosts, COOL TV and as a back-up musician for several independent bands. He has been self-releasing music for over ten years. His album Mount Benson was nominated for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize and he was the Sappyfest songwriter in residence in 2011.

The SUBS feature Amanda P. on the kit, Robbie N. on the bass and a variety of other talented musical contributors.

Construction & Destruction

Colleen Collins and David Trenaman met in London, Ontario in about 1994. And Construction & Destruction started in about 2005, or so. C&D currently work out of Port Greville, Nova Scotia, where they've lived since 2003 in an old house by the sea. They record, themselves and others , in The Quarantine: their living-room studio.

Protruders

Toronto-via-Sackville’s Kappa Chow are no strangers to the Canadian garage rock landscape. Rebranding as Protruders, they deliver good old garage punk with catchy hooks, lots of dissonance, and a bad ass attitude. This band is beyond rad and not to be missed. We dare you to resist the urge to jump around when they hit the stage.
