Jeopardy Host Alex Trebek is Coming to Famous PEOPLE Players to Celebrate Mary Thornton's 100th Birthday

The award-winning host of TV’s favourite game show Jeopardy, Alex Trebek, returns to Famous PEOPLE Players (343 Evans Avenue) for a third time to host Mary’s 100th Birthday Celebration and fundraiser for the Famous PEOPLE Players Exceptional Achievement Program on Saturday, January 30 with a lunch at 11:30am ($100 + HST) and dinner at 6:30pm ($125 + HST). The three course lunch or dinner is followed by a performance by Famous PEOPLE Players. For tickets to Mary’s 100th Birthday Celebration, visit www.famouspeopleplayers.com.

Famous PEOPLE Players will also be launching the new Alex Trebek puppet that he voiced. The puppet will appear in all future shows at Famous PEOPLE Players and will be asking questions about the history of Famous PEOPLE Players that were written by local high school students.

A creative and artistic genius, Diane Dupuy’s mother Mary Thornton founded the Visual Art Effects Department, which designs and creates all of the brilliantly coloured props, costumes, life-size characters and unique settings that are magically brought to life by the Famous PEOPLE Players. Mary is a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and still works at Famous PEOPLE Players.

In addition to hosting Mary’s 100th Birthday Celebration, Alex Trebek will attend a special performance for the high school students who wrote the Jeopardy questions for the Alex Trebek puppet. The complimentary performance is underwritten by local companies.
