YO EVERYONE!

I am so excited to present a Milestone Jazzsexy event on Friday, November 21st. This is the 20th party I have presented in the last 2 years since launching this incredible loft/salon series at 91 Niagara Street. In the last 2 years, I have been able to use the Jazzsexy series as my blank canvas, allowing me to present concerts featuring hand-picked trios, quartets, quintets and bands that have helped me realize a dream: to program world class jazz in an intimate home environment that represents my experience of 20 plus years in the jazz business.

This will be the final Jazzsexy of 2014 there will be a Prince 'Lovesexy' party and a VERY special Jane Siberry salon concert in December and will also mark a VERY special occasion for Elena and I.

In January, Elena and I are moving back to my hometown of Calgary to join the rest of my family, start a new career for both of us, and plan a family. I have been in Toronto for 15 years and this is a VERY difficult decision, but one that we are both so excited for.

SO, this will be the last Jazzsexy of 2014 and the last party while I live here. Not to worry though, Jazzsexy parties will continue in 2015 under the direction of my roommate and dear friend Ray Irwin, who is taking over my lease. The Yamaha G3 grand piano will remain, many of the jazz photography, on the walls and comfortable couches,, etc... Our awesome bartender will remain - I will even be in attendance for probably every second party and will continue programming them from Calgary. Our mascot, Oscar Peterson however, will stay in Calgary, I am afraid.... :

More info on the future of Jazzsexy to follow, but know this for sure: Ray and I and the future tennants of the Jazzsexy loft are NOT stopping this amazing monthly party, and if anything, it will give me something to fly back to Toronto regularly to host, and play at.

SO, this FINAL Jazzsexy of 2014 will also be the going away party for Elena and I. If you have always wanted to come to a Jazzsexy party and haven't yet, or if you are a regular and want to see us off, THIS IS THE ONE TO COME TO! There will be many special guests and party favours since this is essentially our goodbye party!! PLEASE COME wish us your best as we embark on this scary and huge next step in our lives!

The band I have booked for this goodbye party is a true 'Dream Team' of jazz trios in Canada. All three artists are members of the Order of Canada, hence the title 'Order of Canada Band'.! Don Thompson, Dave Young, and Terry Clarke - I cannot imagine a more swinging trio of true gentlemen of jazz, who I have known for years and respect SO MUCH. I assume there will be many special guests throughout the evening so PLEASE come early!

As usual, refreshments are available all night at the bar. We have a huge oak bar, hardwood floors throughout, cool lights, a raised stage, a beautiful Yamaha G3 grand piano, classic jazz photography throughout the space from Paul Hoeffler and others, an automatic Coke machine, and our friendly pug/mascot for the last time! Doors are at 9:00 pm, and the Trio will start at 10:00 pm and play 2 sets of music until 1:00 am, followed by DJ'ing from Scott Morin me :
