propos de Omar Sharif.

Il tait une fois l'Orient, 2013-2015, est la juxtaposition d'images strotypes d'un Orient fantasm. Ces images concernent la reprsentation des femmes arabes ou dites "orientales". C'est un retour sur le cinma gyptien de l'ge d'or et un modeste essai sur la place qu'occupait la femme dans ce cinma et l'image que l'Occident lui a attribu dans sa reprsentation.

Il tait une fois l'orient, 2013-2015, is the juxtaposition of stereotyped images of a fantasized orient. These images involve the representation of arabic or "oriental" women. It is a look back at the golden age of Egyptian cinema and a modest attempt at examining the place of the woman in this era and in the western imagery.
