More About DJ Rafiki:

Theo a.k.a Rafiki (founding member of Beat X Changers, online community of music enthusiasts, and more recently a label) began to play with rhythm through dance by starting hip hop in 1997 and house in 2005. These two types of music and free expression inspired him to get into the driver’s seat as a DJ after enjoying nightlife and dance competitions or battles.

In 2006, Rafiki grabbed his turntables and continues to be greatly influenced by his French “big brothers” Motor Bass, Deep, and St. German, while also drawing from the synthetic ambiance of Detroit’s techno scene or the depth of Berlin beats. He also likes to take his audiences through detours into New York’s “Soulfull” music. Rafiki’s residences abroad, in Montreal, Berlin, New York, and Detroit, greatly shaped his musical identity.

More About Dr. Mephisto:

Dr. Mephisto lives in Toronto since 2012 but is originally from Paris - France. It’s in Paris that was also born his passion for dance and music. Being the son of a professional dancer, dance and music always held a special place in his everyday life. Hip Hop, Funk Styles, House, Salsa, Zouk, Afro, you name it, he knows how to move on it and how to make you move on it.

In 2013 in Toronto, feeling nostalgic for some good old Parisian vibes, he created the Brain Freeze Project with Raoul Wilke ( Moon Runners / Warehouse Jacks) with the objective to produce dance events and parties that would change the game. Mephisto has been curating parties, dance battles in Toronto and Montreal since. One of his major production was the Ubuntu party featuring Juergen Mugen.
