Harvest Noon How To: Jam Making Workshop

In this workshop, participants will get a taste pun intended of food preservation by canning peach jam and whole plums. The facilitators will be introducing two traditional methods of food preservation while also discussing safe canning practices, the benefits of home preservation, and local food seasons. All levels of experience are welcome, and everyone will be leaving with a jar of yummy jam to get them through the winter if you can make it last that long!

Cost:

- $10 for Harvest Noon members and University of Toronto graduate students.

- $15 for non-members includes your $5 lifetime membership please sign up under members

- 2 PWYC Pay What You Can spaces available for those experiencing financial difficulty

Registration: This workshop is limited to 15 participants with 6 spaces reserved for University of Toronto graduate students.

Facilitator Bios

Kat is a rhubarb-loving food enthusiast. As recent staff with at Harvest Noon, she knows her way around a kitchen and always tries to use fresh local produce in her cooking. Ask her anything about food, and if she doesn't know the answer she will most definitely find out!

Ravi is a dedicated Harvest Noon volunteer passionate about traditional food practices. When not baking bread or pickling some home-grown cucumbers, he's probably thinking about what to make for dinner.
