Hamlet...A Puppet Epic!

Celebrating their fifth anniversary, FringeKids favourite Shakey-Shake and Friends returns with an adaptation of Shakespeare's most famous tragedy: Hamlet...with puppets!

Following on the success of their sold out 2013 hit A Midsummer Night's Dream...A Puppet Epic!, 2012's Best of FringeKids hit The Tempest...A Puppet Epic!, and 2011's Romeo and Juliet...A Puppet Epic!, Shakey-Shake and Friends bring their trademark mix of classic text and modern references and asides to introduce a new generation of audiences to one of the greatest plays ever performed.

Len would rather play video games than go see Hamlet at Stratford, so it's up to Shakes and the gang to show him how to REALLY save a kingdom! With tongue firmly planted in felt cheek, the puppet characters re-enact Hamlet in the tradition of The Muppets and PBS' Wishbone: the puppets tell the whole story - tragedy and all- in an engaging, accessible way, while being able to assure young audiences that although the characters in Hamlet meet a tragic end, that the puppet characters are just acting out the story thus delivering the full impact of the tragedy, without the horror that might upset young audiences.

We sincerely hope you'll join us on our lighthearted adventure, which Mooney on Theatre proclaims: "Might just I still a lifelong love of Shakespeare in its audiences...and what could be better than that?"
