Fembots and Ascots - A Murder at the Burlesque Serial

Murder at the Burlesque – Comedy that takes off its gloves...and bras

Who says there’s nothing funny about nudity? The Social Capital again blends high caliber, improvised comedy from the likes of Jan Caruana and Kerry Griffin, with titillating live dances from Red Herring Burlesque.

The second series, Fembots and Ascots, is set in the spying world of the 1960’s. The villainous SMERSCH is out to stop people from being groovy and awesome and it's up to a top MI-6 spy to stop them. How they do it though, is completely up to the improvisers and dancers.

“This is the type of work I love most,” says Social Capital co-owner Ralph MacLeod. “Improv at it’s best should be indistinguishable from scripted comedy and we’ve got the cast to do that. Plus the ladies are groovy sexy.”

Running over four months, the show also features veteran comedians Lisa Merchant, Alastair Forbes, Tom MacKay and Lara Johnson. Combine that with a period cocktail menu and food available from neighbouring restaurant Das Gasthaus and you’ve got good reason to beat the winter blues with a little blue comedy.
