Synergy is defined as the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects OED. In Studio Synergies, LoveJunk Marie Boal and Lisa Meschino plot three years of sharing a studio in Torontos Junction using their visual work as connecting points. The necessity of creating and storing their work side-by-side in a small space lead to an early discovery in the evolution of LoveJunk. Despite different creative approaches, trends could be observed in both the origins and manifestations of their work. Parallel influences, intersecting references, and the converse process of their work sparked further observation. Overtime the unconscious manifestations of proximity and exploration became LoveJunk. Studio Synergies will chronicle its evolution and try to discover at which points osmosis occurred.
