Feast of St. Lawrence Festival

Mark your calendars! The St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA is launching its first annual Feast of St. Lawrence Festival this August 12-14.

To kick it all off is Toronto’s newest -not to be missed- fine dining event on Friday night. Two hundred guests will enjoy live music by a 20-piece jazz ensemble, and dinner under the stars. A 100-foot table will extend along Front Street where diners will be treated to a sumptuous five course feast prepared by some of the top local chefs. Tickets are $200 and include dinner and wine pairings from the Somewhereness group of wineries. Funds raised that evening will be directed to FoodShare Toronto and a charitable tax receipt will be issued for a portion of the cost.

Friday night’s dinner will celebrate the area’s rich and delicious history of locally sourced food and drink. Participating restaurants include: Biff’s Bistro, Pearl Diver, Omni King Edward Hotel, Barsa Taberna, Woods, The Hot House Restaurant and Sultan’s Tent.

On Saturday, the celebration moves to the world famous St. Lawrence Market and Market Street with outdoor food stalls and seating areas, farm fresh produce, canning sessions in the Market Kitchen, extended patios at the Market Street Restaurants and live entertainment including a special performance by the Beatles cover band The Rattles (sponsored by the City of Toronto).

Sunday is designed for the whole family with free fun and healthy activities in St. James Park. The Cooper Koo Family Cherry St. YMCA will be running games and fun competitions. There will be a special puppet show, a button booth, face painters, a kid friendly food workshop, healthy snacks, demonstrations by historic artisans and re-enactors and much more!
