Downtown George Brown

Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with us by exploring the life of George Brown, a Father of Confederation and the founder of The Globe and Mail. Learn about this complicated figure, an abolitionist, anti-union politician, and newspaper owner murdered by a disgruntled employee; and his impacts on our city and nation. This tour will highlight sites associated with Brown, including an interior visit of his residence, George Brown House, presented in partnership with the Ontario Heritage Trust.
