Dare to Draw Workshop 102 for Drawing Lovers!

Dare to Draw 102 Drawing Lovers is a 8-week long drawing workshop, created and facilitated by artist Coco Riot.

This workshop is designed for people who have already put their pen on the paper and are willing to get more practice and skills. You do not need to have attended Dare to Draw Workshop 101 to do 102, but it is a good thing if you have a basic practice of drawing.

Deepen your drawing techniques and dive in the world of colour, contrast and shading until reaching the sophisticated skill of drawing from within imagination, memory. Experiment with markers, watercololour, acrylics and pastels and create masterpieces at a new level.

Dare to Draw Workshops practice a non-traditional approach to teaching drawing that focus on developing participants' obervation and awareness skills and building up confidence in your mark-making capacity also known as drawing. Using a combination of short fun exercises and longer focus driven exercises you will solidify your basic skills and gain a new set of practice.

Each workshop is once a week, two hours long and runs on Thursdays, 6.30 8.30 pm from March 5th to April 30th.

CLASS SCHEDULE:

Week 1: From Lines to Gesture, March 5th

Deepen your understanding of lines and mark making, how they create form, but also distance, light and emotions. Explore rythm, erasing, silence and gesture!

Week 2: Light and Shades, March 19th no class on March 12th

Along with Perspective, working with shading helps to create space and brings flat drawings to 3D. In this workshop, you will learn to understand the basic principles of light and shading working with gray scale on pencil and ink.

Week 3: Shade and Light, March 26th

Further your understanding on shading, by working on how to create light on a dark image. This is agreat starting point to thinking on colour!

Week 4: Maximum Contrast, April 2nd

Working exclusively on ink, we will explore contrast and create powerful black and white images on watercolour paper.

Week 5: Get the colours on! April 9th

Who doesn't want to draw in colour? Colours bring another complexity to the skills of drawing. In this introduction to colours, learn about Colour Theory and turn it into a Colour Practice thanks to a vaiety of exercises.

Week 6: Colours up! April 16th

Get on with your Colour Practice by understanding how shade and light work in colour. Get your brushes out and bring your masterpiece to life.

Week 7: All Yours One, April 23rd

You do have all the necessary skills to get your drawing going. Now it's time to put it all on the canvas. Start your drawing project supported by Coco and your colleagues.

Week 8: All Yours Two, April 30th

Finalize your masterpiece! Start another! Get your hands dirty and practice, play, support your friends and be an artist at the studio!
