Culture talks @ Goethe: Sheraz Khan on Berlin's streetscape

Urban explorations of Berlin's streets - free admission

Closing our exhibition "Look Down" - New Urban Works by Sheraz Khan, the artist - just back from a second Berlin visit - will talk about his works on display. Interested in the multisensorial nature of urban environments, Khan produced the works for "Look Down" as part of a larger series developed during a residency at the Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik in the Berlin neighbourhood of Moabit in 2014. The work explored Berlin's physicial streetscape, specifically the texture of street materials and urban dwellers' relation to them.

Sheraz Khan holds a Master in Urban Planning from the University of Toronto. In his artistic practice, he is interested in the everyday, physical experience of cities through the senses and in individual and personal relations to urban spaces.

The artist will be in conversation with media specialist Beth Coleman.
