Our neighbourhood street sale, COWANATION, is coming up this weekend - mark your calendars! Saturday June 3rd (rain date, Sunday). Cowan Avenue closes to traffic at 8am so that people can walk freely, enjoying the wares - clothes, gently used, vintage, some brand new, some fit only to be worn by the bravest of us all (ya, you Cowan resident, I've seen you walking around in that outfit...time to give it up!) - gizmos, appliances (small and maybe large), shoes, antiques (I'm putting out antiques and vintage - not dirt cheap, but lots to consider, ok, maybe some cheap) - records!!! - I have a couple hundred records I bought at a garage sale - the wackiest titles and many in pristine condition - from soundtracks to the Osmonds to sound effects to hammond organ hits to Lawrence Welk to classical to pop to Jim Reeves and Nana Mouskouri to OMG WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MUSIC!!! Ok, also many garage sale type items that most neighbours will probably buy, later be filled with regret and have as part of their own sale at next year's Cowantion... Ok, so you get my drift. Lots of people on adjoining streets piggyback on the popularity of Cowantion and this is greatly encouraged - it should be a community event for all of Parkdale (personal opinion). So come buy our junk! Come buy my antiques and wacky records! Come listen to the music, eat some food. If you would like any information about participation, please just ask. Oh, and of great importance is that PAWS ACROSS THE WATER dog rescue will have a photo booth to take pics of you, your kids, you and your kids, your dogs, you and your kids and your dogs...with your chosen vintage background. Cats welcome, but if your cats are anything like my cats, bring your own supply of bandages!!!
