Legendary Cree singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie came to prominence during the mid 1960s as part of New Yorks Greenwich Village folk scene, alongside contemporaries Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. Artists such as Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, and Taj Mahal turned her early songs into hits, while her own successful recording career has included more than 15 albums and performances around the globe. Buffy also has a PhD in Fine Arts and is a tireless political activist, continuing to represent the rights of indigenous peoples worldwide. Her many hits include the classics Universal Soldier and Until Its Time for You to Go.
