Patricia Storms is an illustrator and author whose children's books include Never Let You Go and The Pirate and the Penguin. Patricia's workshop will include uses of technology for illustrating, children as an audience for illustration, and building an illustration portfolio. One of the unique requirements of children's book illustration is that the artist creates characters that have to be recognizable and consistent throughout the book; the workshop will include a character continuity exercise with participants drawing a simple character in different situations.

This workshop is held in congruence with the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators, and Performers' exhibition, Capturing Imagination: The Art of Storytelling.
