Arabian Nights : Toronto Fringe Festival

This latest production by Sarah Skinner and the Sisters of Salome brings the iconic 1001 Nights to the dance stage. Assembled over centuries during the Islamic Golden Age, this collection of Arabic fairy tales was translated into English in 1706 and have come to be known to western audiences as Arabian Nights. The tales are told by Sherehezade, the latest bride of King Shahryar during her wedding night. Her goal: to save herself from her own execution the next morning by captivating her husband with her fantastical and eccentric tales. Filled with action, mystery, jealousy, sex and romance, these stories are brought to life through the beautiful art of belly dance. A feast for the senses, Arabian Nights will transport you to exotic lands and times with enthralling music, colourful costuming, dramatic storytelling and exotic belly dance. Come away with Sarah Skinner and the Sisters of Salome and let them tell you a story at The Toronto Fringe Festival July 2-13 2014. More details coming in April!
