Amahl and the Night Visitors, by Gian Carlo Menotti, is a beautiful and beloved holiday classic. A one-act opera, it tells the story of a poor widow and her spirited son who are visited one night by three Kings needing shelter as they cross the desert following a mysterious star. When Amahl decides to send his own special gift to the child they seek, a surprising miracle takes place.

This performance will be followed by a concert of seasonal music, soloists, and a jazz ensemble. The cast includes Denise Williams and Lawrence Cotton, led by musical director William Shookhoff.
