Canadian film great Ron Mann directs this documentary portrait of one of the giants of American cinema: Robert Altman, whose prodigious output includes such classics as MASH, The Long Goodbye, Nashville, and Gosford Park. Mann's ALTMAN was featured in the Venice Classics section of the 71st Venice International Film Festival this month, and it now opens theatrically in Canada.

ALTMAN is an in-depth look at the life and times of filmmaker Robert Altman MASH, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Nashville, The Player, Gosford Park, and many more. While refusing to bow down to Hollywoods conventions, or its executives, Altmans unique style of filmmaking won him friends and enemies, earned him worldwide praise, and occasionally scathing criticism, and proved that it IS possible to make truly independent films.
