Toronto is getting a new chocolate factory

Toronto already has a few chocolate factories but now one of the city's most famous purveyors has big plans for expansion.

SOMA Chocolatemaker, currently with retail locations on King West and in the Distillery District is shutting its cocoa bean lab on Golden Avenue and will be moving into 77 Brock Avenue in the former home of the Japanese Paper Place.

Owners David Castellan and Cynthia Leung plan to introduce tours and possibly educational programming for serious chocoholics as well as tastings at the new factory. The expanded capacity will also allow them to get into more wholesale production which means their top-notch chocolate could end up everywhere.
