Dinesafe info now on blogTO

Posted by Tim / October 12, 2010

Dinesafe blogTOYou can now check a restaurant's Dinesafe history via blogTO's restaurant reviews. Thanks to the City of Toronto's Open Data initiative we have now included a direct link to each restaurant's Dinesafe history in the Location and Contact details section of each page. You can spot the link in the screenshot above under the Google map along with the other need to know information we provide about each restaurant.

A big thanks to the team behind the Open Data initiative for making this possible. Providing easy access to this data was one of the top requests when the City met with stakeholders early on to discuss the scope and timing of this initiative. We're happy to be one of the first sites we know of to integrate this data into our growing collection of restaurant reviews.

Please leave a comment below if you have any feedback, questions or notice any technical issues associated with our implementation.

Great idea Tim.

Spelling mistake in your write up here though: "Thanks to the City of Toronto's *link* Open Date initiative */link*"

The DineSafe link for The Pomegranate on College isn't working

That's quite nice, actually.

All that needs to be done is to get rid of the annoying double-click to get to reviews from the post on the main page and we'll be all set :)

The Pomegranate link is an odd one. The restaurant seems to no longer be listed on the Dinesafe site. Are you able to find it?
