Roncylicious Descends on Roncesvalles

Posted by Tim / August 5, 2008

RoncyliciousNot content with seeing the rest of the city alternately enthral and annoy diners with special events like Summerlicious, Winterlicious and Leslielicious, a number of Roncesvalles restaurants and the local BIA have banded together to start the like-minded Roncylicious.

The food festival actually kicked off yesterday and runs until the end of August. So make sure to grab a Roncesvalles map or just head over to the Roncesvalles page to start getting familiar with some of the great local restaurants.

A full list of participating businesses and their special offerings during Roncylicious can be found on this page on the Roncylicious web site.

Do these restauranteurs know that vegetarians not only exist but like to eat and will spend money to do so? There is all of one selection in Roncylicious that is vegetarian and that place doesn't seem offer full meals.

Most of the selections do look rather meaty, but many of the restaurants participating offer a decent selection of vegetarian dishes on a regular basis. Sue's Thai has vegetarian versions of almost every dish and Shala Mar has an entire vegetarian section of the menu. I couldn't care less that there's a "food festival", but Ronces does have good stuff on offer for vegetarians.

Very intelligent RBeezy, actually the name roncylicious is a direct shot at those people who organize summerlicious and winterlicious in toronto. none of the restaurants in our neighborhood can qualify to enter these events which are reserved for high profile downtown places. during the weeks of summerlicious and winterlicious our neighborhood restaurants suffer as these events draw our clientelle away from the hood. i think its quite fitting. As for wtf, you are absolutely right, my bad. As the owner of the dizzy gastro sports pub, i am offering a vegeterian meal that will knock your socks off! Check out www.roncylicious.com
