Booze Bottle "Bag It Back" to Begin Soon

80 million alcohol bottles, cans and containers from Ontario make their way into landfills each year. Reducing landfill and enhancing the efficiency of the existing blue box recycling program are on the agenda. On February 5th, the LCBO launches its new "Bag it Back" bottle deposit program.

Almost all beverage alcohol containers (wine bottles and boxes, beer cans, and liquor bottles) will be subject to a $0.10 or $0.20 deposit at the time of purchase, which will be refunded when the containers are returned to the Beer Stores (find your nearest return location).

I'm all for it, and hope that people quickly adjust to and support the program.
