For inexpensive fresh fruit and veggies in the Korean Village come early to the Bloor Fruit Market, located on the north side of Bloor St. West between Bathurst and Christie.

The prices are exceptional considering the quality of the produce: Two 1 litre boxes of strawberries for $3.00, 79 cents per pound seedless green grapes, tastebud bursting blackberries in half-litre cartons for $1.50. Look for even better deals the closer we get to summer.

Friendly and fast service tops things off.

The only missing ingredient is an organic selection.

This little shop is indeed a gem. I've found it beats even Kensington market for prices. For those in the Annex who've resigned themselves to Dominion or the other nearby, but hardly cheaper markets: it's worth the trip into the Korean Village!
