Comedian Ricky Gervais hid a prize for fans somewhere in Toronto

During a short and sweet tour stop in Toronto this week, English comedian Ricky Gervais set aside some time to sneakily hide a prized souvenir in an undisclosed location in the city for a lucky fan to find.

The 62-year-old writer and director took the stage at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night for his international stand-up comedy tour, Armageddon

After cracking jokes to a roaring crowd of approximately 19,000 fans, Gervais revealed that he wouldn't be bidding farewell to the city without leaving a treasured gift behind.

On Friday morning just before 9:30 a.m., the Golden Globe Award winner hid a signed stuffed moose sporting a Toronto t-shirt in an unknown location in the city.

Eagle-eyed fans quickly began to guess the stuffed animal's hiding spot, from Danforth Avenue, below the CN Tower, to Old City Hall based on the rustic brick wall Gervais was standing in front of.

Others suggested examining the reflection in the comedian's sunglasses for clues.

Just 20 minutes later, the comedian dropped another clue, and essentially revealed that the prized souvenir was perched up behind a bush just off Bellair Street in Yorkville.

Less than 30 minutes later, one swift fan managed to snag the stuffed moose before most even got the chance to head down to the affluent neighbourhood.

This isn't the first time the comedian has left one-of-a-kind gifts for his fans. During his most recent tour, Gervais hid a signed teddy bear in Vienna and Cambridge, as well as a Trauffer wooden toy cow in Zurich.
