Drake Hotel unveils big expansion plans

Toronto might have its very own 6 god, but there's another Drake that looks to be taking over the city. That's right, the Drake Hotel is gearing up for a pretty big 2017.

For more than five years, the Drake had development plans to add an additional five storeys and 32 suites to its existing West Queen West hotel. But as the Globe and Mail reports today, it'll be getting that project started next year.

It'll also open a commissary and production facility on Sterling Road by Henderson Brewing Co., which will include a bakery and a bar and will also house the company's incoming catering business.

And, it's opening up a new all-day bar across the street from the Drake One Fifty on York Street.
