New food truck brings a taste of Brazil to Toronto

Posted by Natalia Manzocco / July 23, 2014

acai dreamzzAcai Dreamzz is out to show Torontonians that acai goes way beyond fancy juice on the supermarket shelf. The two-month-old food truck serves up the berry the way it's eaten in Brazil; crushed into a frozen sorbet-like pulp and topped off with some fresh fruit.

Read my profile of Acai Dreamzz on Toronto Food Trucks.

Had one of these about 1 month ago.

IMHO: Too sweet. I don't think it needs the honey. The berry, strawberry and banana is already sweet enough. Why add honey to the mix?

Still a pretty good smoothie overall though...

Absolutely love acai. Had no clue this truck existed and will now go on the hunt to try out their version. Was introduced to it in Rio and the stuff with granola is absolutely awesome for a pre workout food. Toronto sure has stepped up in recent years from hot dog stands to stuff like this.

Breware of calories. Açai is quite health but it is usually consumed in Brasil as a meal. A bowl of açai must provide around 1000 kcal ;) it's a very good source of energy for pre-workout but this is not a dessert.
