Rob Ford gets his party on in B.C.

Posted by Chris Bateman / February 1, 2014

toronto rob fordBlurry photos, awful filters, snatched seconds of dance-floor action - it must be another controversial Rob Ford night out, this one in a Coquitlam, B.C. bar while in town to attend a memorial service for a family friend.

The photos began to appear when Ford and long-time friend and former logistics director David Price were ticketed $109 each by an RCMP officer at a busy intersection for disobeying a pedestrian sign, Global News reports.

Ford is in British Columbia with Price to attend the funeral of Price's mother.

Ford told the Toronto Sun's Joe Warmington that he was "speechless" and "perplexed" by the tickets, which he called "a waste of taxpayer's money." Ford said the pair were heading to a Chinese restaurant when the incident occurred and denied the pair were intoxicated.

Pictures that appear to be taken later that night show the mayor on the dance-floor, posing with drinkers at The Foggy Dew, an Irish-themed pub a five-minute walk from where the tickets were issued.

Here are the highlights, if you can call them that.

Ugh what disturbs me with all of this is people WANT to take pictures with that fool. Rob Ford ia not cool, he is not your bro, no self respecting person should ever want to stand near that sweaty disgusting idiot long enough to take a picture. Barf.

@Brian - even if he wins, he hasn't achieved much except waste $1B+ of taxpayers money by cancelling projects and building a useless subway that won't serve anyone.

Other than his stupid antics, his policy work is close to nil. Councillors found out that his vote is worth 1 of 44 and got some balls to make good decisions.

tbh, if he won again I'm not all that concerned since his consensus building is nonexistent so he can't do much except bluster lies to his moronic followers.

Nice to see all those people gushing over the mayor of Toronto like that. No other mayor on the planet has that kind of popularity.

FOUR MORE YEARS Rob!!!!

He actually doesn't seem very intoxicated in these photos. He's just a man at a bar, is that a scandal now? While yes he is a terrible mayor the focus shouldn't be on every photo you see of him enjoying himself. This is why people like him, he's a man of the people.

First of a BC is the Pot capital of the world, secondly there is nothing illegal or wrong with going to a pub. And lastly Vancouver's lower east side is infected with heroin, crack and method if any of you really cared you'd be helping those people out notr focusing on whether Rob Ford had drinks in a pub or if he crossed the street and Jwalked! Give me a break get your head out of our fucking ass long enough to realize the media is having their way with you!

the guy is a joke and anyone with a brain can't wait to see the back of him but reporting this stuff actually gives credibility to the sadpants that scream media conspiracy. you really don't need to run a story on every ford picture that shows up.

Here's some cold hard facts; he is in B.C to attend a funeral for a friend/co-worker. Perhaps he was confused and was without a clue how to process a tragic event? Perhaps going to a nightclub to be among the presence of the young and alive would remind him that life doesn't have to be so short?
He has sworn off drinking and I am on the fence here. Was he drinking coke and sprite at a nightclub/pub? That seems about right. I believe him.

Listen folks, let's be clear. There is no photo of him drinking. There is no way a man like Ford would have an enabler nearby on a trip out that far to supply him with a swig of vodka. No, impossible.

The man is on vacation away from Toronto, the Police and media have no business following him around and fussing over his presence.

OMG OMG Ford went to a pub for some drinks and some grub!!!!!! Call in the Army! How many wings did he have? Was it pints or pitchers? Any dipping sauces? Bathroom Visits?

I dunno, I don't see a drink in his hands in any of the photos, and he looks pretty damn sober, with little hint of his trademark red drunk face. Much ado about nothing. Pretty sad of him complaining about the jaywalking ticket though. Is he saying Torontonians should laugh off laws, even if they are ridiculous as jaywalking tix, which are only enforced to make filling quotas easier?

I don't understand the phenomenon. Yes he's out spoken, yes he's rich, yes he's good looking. That does not mean we want to see him 24/7.

This should NOT be news in BC. He's the mayor of Toronto, he's out of his jurisdiction but so what? He's just a regular guy that likes to go out when he can and when on vacation.

I'd be doing the same thing if I was on a trip from Toronto to Vancouver. Id be going out have a few drinks trying some food. I would not be sitting in my hotel room while visiting another city and neither would any of you!!!

a lot of people in here complain about "the media" following him around and making a story out of nothing. That's not what happened - it's social media - aka the people in the bar with Ford who made it a story.

The traditional media is just reporting on what actual people have posted on their social media accounts. The star didn't send a camera crew to ambush him - Ford is so infamous that he can't go out in public without making a scene.

I'd just like to see Ford at an event without sweating though his shirt.

Rob Ford traveled to Vancouver for a funeral, with his family. When he arrived there, he went partying in pubs.

Please do NOT invite "Uncle" Rob anymore to funerals, baptisms, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, or banquets.

LET ME GET THIS,

So Norm Kelly can fly south of the border during the ice storm to visit a sick relative spending money in the USA BUT Rob Ford is not allowed to stay within our borders fly to Vancouver for a funeral and spend some money in the local economy.

ARE YOU PEOPLE BACKWARDS? I KNOW YOU HAVE A VENDETTA AGAINST ROB BUT LETS NOT GET CARRIED AWAY. THIS IS A NON ISSUE. SURE ARGUE HIS POLICIES, ETC BUT GOING TO A PUB?

ITS SUPERBOWL SUNDAY TODAY I HOPE YOUR GOING TO GO TO SPORTS BARS AND PUBS TODAY TO TELL PEOPLE THAT ARE ACTING INAPPROPRIATE AND THIER BEHAVIOUR IS UNACCEPTABLE. WATCHING SPORTS AND HAVING A GOOD TIME IN PUB IS NOT ALLOWED!

P.S. See you in the summer when you're whining why you can't drink a beer in bellwoods park - its illegal!!!

Mayor Rob Ford has told CNN he’s “the best father around”. So he leaves his kids with the mother as he goes out on the town to party, when he was there for a funeral. I don't think so he's “the best father around”.

Meanwhile, while stupid Canadians fawn over an over weight drug addict profusely sweating all over a girl half his age while successfully running a campaign to become Mayor of the Largest city in Canada in spite of the fact that he is being investigated for ordering a hit on an inmate, intimidating drug dealers(one of which was murdered on a downtown street) admitting he uses crack and was drunk on several occasions, other Nations, more focused Nations, Nations with big economic goals, grin at the sitting duck waiting for them as the Prime Minister greedily hands over all our resources in a bid for the chair position of Enbridge when the dust all settles.
When the party's over your late for work and someone else has taken your job.

@aguy, he is NOT "a man of the people". What most people don't realise is that he is a multi-multi-millionaire, along with the rest of his family, so by thinking he is "one of us", people are sorely mistaken. He did not work hard to get where he is. And people need to stop thinking that he's just like me and wants to help me. Rob Ford is in it for one person and one person only, Rob Ford.

@Toni, Norm Kelly flew to the U.S. for one frigging night to visit his last surviving sibling, his sister, and to spend what will probably be the last Christmas he'll have with her. He was in constant contact with everyone back here and there is nothing he could have done here in Toronto during the ice storm than he could do from down there. I personally see nothing wrong with that.

p.s. I have no problem with Rob Ford travelling anywhere. But he needs to remember that if he still believes he's "the mayor of Toronto", then he needs to remember that he represents all of us wherever he goes, and should conduct himself accordingly and have some decorum. What bugs me is the morons who act like fans and want pictures taken with him and then vote for him without realising how damaging he is for our city.

Looks more like he's put his life and family aside to feed various addictions and show for work when he feels like it. He just has to keep repeating that he's "there for the little guy...blah blah...taxpayer!...subways!" and his loyal nation ignores reality.

wasn't he there for the funeral of his life long friend's mother? People show grief in different ways I guess.

People always show grief. After most funerals I've been too in my Saskatchewan Prairie family and friends often people are having a drink or even having shots of moonshine. What's the big deal, someone has died and left your life and sometimes your gonna party harty and tie one one on the decreased's behalf and it helps get over it. So what? We all only get one life and if we feel the need to go off once in awhile who cares?

Once the stains are gone, make sure you use a leather conditioner to help restore any moisture lost from
your leather during the cleaning process. Although there are many uses for the
Schticky lint roller, the two most common ones are for removing lint
and removing pet hair. If you do not have a brush or sponge,
use your vacuum to suck up any loose fragments of dirt from the
furniture.

Don't they care that they might open old emotional scars and hurt some feelings.

Each and every community or city appears to have
its own daycare facility. This is very useful, as health can change,
so without this kind of feature increasing your cover when you need to can be difficult.
