Craigslist ad seeks sarcastic and combative astroturfers
In case you failed to notice the federal election campaign churning into full gear, an ad posted to Toronto's job listings on Craigslist today should serve as a timely and slightly depressing reminder of what the next month has in store for us all. First discovered by Mondoville, the ad is nothing if not explicit about the unnamed company's astroturfing aims. My favourite part? "Ideally you can find or make up facts and statistics to stir controversy. Where suited humour, sarcasm and personal insults are welcome."
Who knows if the ad is legitimate or not, but I'd suggest that a few of our Street Style commenters might want to look into this. The full listing, which has now been flagged, is posted below.

While the Lamestream media (read Toronto Star, G&M, BlogTO, NOW and Spacing) will never admit it a vote for the grits or the dips is a vote for the complete and utter destruction of the Canadian Way. The coalition of the losers will immediately attempt a non confidence vote as soon as parliament convenes and Stephen Harper our country's greatest Prime Minister will not be able to go rogue (Prorogue) to protect the Canadian people the way he did the last time. The Socialists, Communists and Separatists will take control of the country and set us down a path to hell refudiating all the hard work that the God, King and Country Torys have done to save us from the worst recession since the dirty thirties. In short this bunch of anarchists will turn us into Europeans: broke, unemployed, pacifists. Even though Harvard graduated the greatest President who ever lived G.W. Bush -the man who lit the torch of democracy in the middle east and liberated Iraq, Egypt, Libya and the rest understand that Mr. Ignatieff is not this kind of man. He has no respect for truthiness, he is preoccupied with facts and logic and probably has never drank a bottle of American ale in his life. My fellow Canadians when you go to the polls take out your wallet and rip it in half because that is what will happen if Jack Layton is the Minister of Finance and ask Mr Ignatieff to see his birth certificate.
