Toronto celebrates Mubarak's resignation

Toronto Egypt Celebrate Mubarak Yonge DundasEgyptian Canadians gathered at Yonge and Dundas Square on Friday evening to celebrate the news of President Hosni Mubarak's resignation. The spirited rally was organized by the Toronto-Arab Solidarity Campaign, the same organization that organized the Egypt solidarity protest last week and a fortnight ago.

Another rally is planned for 2pm on Saturday at the square.Toronto Egypt Mubarak celebration

Now why couldn't U.S. citizens do the same when Bush got his 2nd term or when he started that foul illegal invasion of Iraq?

Hmm.. Must be because they are weak sheep and NOT brave like the Egyptian people.

I'm half Egyptian and super proud today but Sam keep in mind it took 30 years to come to this point. The difference with the Americans is that they had the benefit of showing Bush the door with a limited term. Let today be for the Egyptian people. Lots of work ahead but I have faith in the people and I think they now have faith in themselves.

As happy as I am for the Egyptians, I hope that they will be able to use the democracy and all that comes with it wisely.

With the world watching, I like to think positive that this stand for the people will show the world numbers,persiverince, and faith could do wanders. I love my home and country and hope before I die I can witness more of this around our beautiful world. proud Canadian.

I wish I was there. :-) I'm glad Canadians care about things going on outside this country. It's much more progressive than our PM.
