The photos of the week: August 30 - September 5

Posted by Derek Flack / September 5, 2010

20100830-potd2.jpgA weekly feature on blogTO, the photos of the week collect each of the editor-selected photos of the day into one post for a contest to be decided by our readers. Sponsored by Posterjack, the photographer whose image receives the most votes will be awarded with a voucher code for a 24"x36" poster print of their work.

All the rules and fine-print can be found in the original announcement post on the blogTO Flickr page. One thing to add, however, is that the voting period ends at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, after which the winner will be contacted with the good news.

For those photographers whose images are featured below, please feel free to give us a little information about your shot -- i.e. where and when it was taken -- in the comments section. Who knows? Maybe your description will sway voters in your favour!

Hi everyone,

DdotG here.

First of all, thanks to blogTO for including my shot in this week's contest. These are all fantastic shots and each portrays our city in a different and fascinating way.

My photo is actually from a personal project I am doing. I've always been fascinated by the dynamism and action within large urban environments and how they are like enormous, breathing, moving organisms in constant change. My project attempts to capture this constant sense of motion within Toronto. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great long weekend!

are you joking, the bike photo? was a boring, average pick. the last photo should win. imagine the photographer when he wins a giant photo of someone who obviously means a lot to him/her!

I sincerely apologize for the comment above. I am a huge idiot. Please forgive me.
