The best of Rob Ford on YouTube
Last Friday a less than remarkable Rob Ford spoof video (based on the somehow popular Old Spice dude) made the rounds in the local media. It's not particularly good, but it has its moments. There's something about a Rob Ford-run Toronto being devoured by flames, for instance, that seems so...um, fitting.
The video, however, was far from Ford's first popular presence on YouTube. Of the leading mayoral candidates, in fact, Ford is best represented on the site (where best really just equals "most"). There are some widely entertaining videos -- the "fat fuck" clip that also features Giorgio Mammoliti comes to mind first -- and some that are painfully boring, but there's certainly no lack of choice.
So, given the surplus of footage, I thought it best to round up a few of my favourites. And if it seems like I'm singling him out -- I am. But, rest assured, I'll be scouring for more of the same from the other candidates in due time (i.e. pre-election). But for now, please enjoy the best of Rob Ford on YouTube. And, as always, if I've missed a gem or you think another video is worthy of inclusion, leave a comment and I'll update the post if I agree.
The "fat fuck" video (9/10 on the cringe-inducing scale)
On cyclists (8/10 on the cringe-inducing scale)
On homeless shelters and public lynchings (9/10 on the cringe inducing scale)
Free advertising (3/10 on the cringe-inducing scale)
Rocco Rossi confronts Ford on immigration (6/10 on the cringe-inducing scale, but directed at Rossi)
Old Spice campaign parody (6/10 cringe-inducing, but directed at the creators)
The gravy train (2/10 on the cringe inducing scale -- so bad it's good!)
Daryn Ford for Mayor (5/10 on the cringe-inducing scale)
Orientals work like dogs (8/10 on the cringe-inducing scale)
This is not Rob Ford (but the YouTube uploader thought there was a likeness. No comment from me -- you'll have to decide for yourself).
