Last night's insanely visual thunderstorm in Toronto resulted in a whole lot of amazing still photos of lighting, and now some decent videos are starting to trickle onto the web.

The video compilation above shows several separate and sped-up lightning strikes, but gives a fairly accurate depiction of the level of drama that lit up the skies for hours yesterday evening.

Other amateur videos (below) show what look like a really close strikes (close enough that the people holding the cameras nearly jump out of their boots).

Environment Canada just issued another severe thunderstorm watch for the GTA (2:20pm), so today may see more wild weather yet!

Wow. That fourth video is wild. Wish I'd thought to film some of this, but I was cowering under my bed ....

The second video (the very close one) was shot by me on my front porch - it hit very close, probably around 150 - 200 meters away (estimated).
