Gas Prices - Premium for the Price of Regular

Posted by Tim / October 18, 2008

Toronto Gas PricesWith the dramatic drop in oil prices, not only is the price of gas in Toronto flirting with the 100 mark, but now it seems at least one gas station is having trouble keeping the regular stuff in supply. This morning as I went to fill 'er up at an Esso station at the corner of Lakeshore and Carlaw, I found the above pictured sign attached to all the pumps at the station.

For the record though, the price of gas was 100.6 which is three points higher than what Toronto Gas Prices is spotting in other parts of the city.

My car likes it when this happens.

Thanks for the update, Tim McTeague.
Let's just hope that the Gas Truck Driver don't work weekends.

A couple weeks ago the Shell near Dundas/Sorauren was doing the same thing. It was right after one of the big drops in price - first time my car got "Silver" probably ever.

The premium gas doesn't matter at all. Unless your car requires, there is no difference in using premium over regular. It does not improve mileage at all. All just a marketing trick...
Also I think gas truck drivers work all the time.

Meh, happens all the time, and like N said, high-octane fuel does nothing for engines that take regular, unless perhaps your car has a pre-ignition problem. Sorry folks.
