Blossoms and Shutterbugs in High Park

20070507_blossoms.jpgThe cherry blossoms were out in full effect this weekend, and so were the Sunday afternoon frolickers. Hillside Gardens in High Park is home to a number of cherry trees and they're in full bloom right now. It's the closest thing to Japanese flower viewing (Hanami) you'll get in Toronto, and the moment is so fleeting that if you haven't already taken a stroll and taken the views, you really should very soon!

So pretty! I can't understand why there aren't more cherry blossoms planted along Toronto's streets and in little parks throughout the city.

All of Manhattan is blooming with cherry blossoms (as well as flowers of all kinds) right now and the city is breathtaking!!!

Nice photos. Small editorial detail: hana-mi means flower-watching. Hana-bi is flower-fire(a.k.a. fireworks).

D'oh! (2 years in Japan and plenty of hanami and hanabi later and this is what I do?) Fixed.
