Capture the Hog: Chalk Outlines

Posted by Tanja / January 4, 2006

jan0406_CTHcreba.jpgFor no particular reason, I was on Yonge St late last night and along the way finally had a chance to see the makeshift memorial to Jane Creba at Gould & Yonge.

Toronto's most prolific sidewalk artist was also stopping in to add his sentiments. When a passerby stopped to give kudos, he could only sigh and reply that he was hardly happy to be there working on such a piece.

It is raining in T.O. at the moment.

My initiative to respectfully preserve from the elements by moving what everyone seems to still refer to as the 'makeshift memorial' for Jane Creba indoors next door to the empty store front is unlikely as the space has already been leased out.

We will be trying to find an indoor location within steps from the current site as soon as possible, if anyone can ante up a space, please let us know at yongestreetpeace[@]gmail.com

Hopefully the above sidewalk art will survive today's rain.

Thank You.
