freeTOreuse - One Man's Garbage...

Nope, this isn't a post about Toronto's looming garbage strike. This is a post about the yummy goodness of stuff: expired junk to some, new found Toronto treasure to others.

"Started in Toronto with a passion for helping others, freeTOreuse is a one of a kind group. Where those who join do so out of the kindness of their hearts. Posting belongings they no longer need and asking for those they surely do."

Imagine a simple, interactive classified ads operation where all the items are free for the taking and you have freeTOreuse. The group is almost two years old with about 6000 members in the GTA and growing. Sign up via Yahoo Groups and get a cruise-on for stuff you don't even know you need yet (via email, web or RSS) or post the clutter you've been dying to give away. And if you actually are in need of something, ask for it. People are often parting with some pretty great gear like sewing machines, record players, old electronics, furniture, bikes, books and more.

Once you make the connection with a poster, arrange to pickup/deliver the goods. It's ultimate thrift shopping from home!

This freeTOreuse group USED to be a FREECYCLE group until the nutball of an owner decided to take off with it because she didn't like to follow rules. The group has lost 400+ members since leaving. The 'owner' also did the name change WITHOUT asking a SINGLE member!

Actually the "nutball" who runs FreeTOreuse did change from FREECYCLE after a couple of lengthy discussions occured over items people wanted to offer and the owners of FREECYCLE decided that their belief system was the only one. She had to uphold their rules even though the people in the group disagreed with them and finally, when people wanted to offer memorabilia from Pride days past and she was told by FREECYCLE that was just not allowed she pulled the plug since it was obviously a decision based on discrimination. I don't normally get involved in political stuff but I felt in this case I had to say something to defend her. I belong to her Toronto group as well as 2 FREECYCLE groups and find the whole concept excellent and I also understand why the FreeTOreuse owner felt she had to do what she had to do even if it meant people would leave the group or call her a "nutball" over the whole thing.

Actually the reason why the group shrank a little was because of this Adriana Masotti who is the freecycledurham owner who spammed the freeTOreuse membership with these kinds of accusations. And with that invited those members to free-cycle. How nice of this 18 year old university student who continues to send me rude messages. We have banned this person under more than 6 aliases. And she has joined again under a new alias to continue her deceitful work. Even though Deron the creator of free-cycle promised he would put a stop to her doing this. That is how she found out about this blog she is still in the freeTOreuse group. If she hates it so much she should leave and find a life.

Also discontinued Yahoo accounts made for us having to remove these daily.

Now the truth is that we have had over 300 new members since.

And I can assure you that freeTOreuse will continue to grow way beyond any ones wildest dreams.

Thanks Ginnine for your support.

:) David

free ONTARIO reuse GROUPS takes over from freecycle freecycling freecyclers

A new concept has hit the waves and many are surfing over to a new group of
people in Ontario, Canada who are leaving (freecycle) the
concept of environmental activism and setting the stage to bring in a new
social order where people are the main objective.

No longer are landfills of concern as people are realizing that you cannot
stop them from filling up, but only slow down the process and the well being
of people must be of priority. Any ecosystem is made up of the people who
inhabit it, it is only reasonable that you must take care of the people
first.

Spreading like a blizzard that just won't quit the free ONTARIO reuse
GROUPS! At present we have thousands of members who are willing to stop at
nothing to make sure that those who are less fortunate are taken care of
first.

Rising like a hibernating bear ready to gather more and more people into the
many groups that are set up to post wanted and offers of free stuff. These
groups are making a hit with the media and gaining a
following like never before.

From east to west you will find groups in your area and if there isn't one
in your town, city or region you should have one started today. All it takes
is an email to freetoreuse@yahoo.ca , along with a digital
photograph that you have personally taken and the rest is all done for you.

Their motto is " Join today and bring a smile" .

One persons trash, is another persons cash and yes with the free
ONTARIO reuse GROUPS you can bank on us!

freeTOreuse a better choice than American freecycleto - freecycle Toronto

freeTOreuse is a Toronto Reusable Social Networking group of over 5500 members where each and every day people give of what they no longer use to those who have a need and reuse.

The owners of freeTOreuse both born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada do not charge for this service as well as they do not make any monetary gain or profit for the work that they do.

Unlike freecycle a nonprofit corporation in the state of Arizona - The Freecycle Network who run freecycle Toronto - freecycleto who's founder Deron Beal has received $130,000 American Dollars from WM Waste Management. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7955511/from/RL.1

Here is some more about freecycle for those who need to know and be forewarned http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freecycle_Network read it in its entirety.

Why would anyone want to support freecycle who are going to make money off of those items that you are going to give away for free? We sure don't know but maybe it is because those who join freecycle do not know what they are getting themselves into until it is too late. Well we think it is never too late!

At least ways for those of us Canadians in Toronto, Ontario who want to keep our cash north of the border! You have an option! Come join freeTOreuse today and bring more than just a smile but also bring those Canadian owned items and keep those belongings that you no longer want to use but want to reuse in Canada.

Join freeTOreuse today and bring a smile. :)

It's free stuff Toronto - Toronto free stuff

Evolution dictates change and reusable social networking is that change!

It is our hope that some day everyone in Ontario will "reuse locally and accept socially" that is our motto!
