Nuit Blanche Toronto video 2012

Posted by Derek Flack / September 30, 2012

Nuit Blanche Toronto 2012If your 2012 Nuit Blanche was anything like mine, the you struggled to jump from zone to zone taking in all the good exhibits. Most of my time was spent in Zone B, so I ended up missing some pretty intriguing installations. Filling the gap to a certain degree is this video, the second annual offering from the Jon Simonassi and the Biz Media crew, who pull some long hours to gather all their footage and edit it before we've all got completely bored of the all night art fest.

As was the case last year, this is a gorgeous video that'll should help remind us all about just how much potential the event has. No, there aren't any puking kids here (though that would be kind of funny); what you'll find instead is some stunning footage of what were some of the best exhibits of the night and a soundtrack that's timed with such precision that it's hard not to crack a smile at how it all comes together.

Enjoy!

This video was better than the entirety of Nuit Blanche, which, frankly, was an underwhelming let-down.

The video was far more impressive than Nuit Blanche.

Well, having attended the festival for the last several years, I was sorely disappointed not in the exhibits but in the dwindling down in scale and the proliferation of food trucks. This was the x-mas eve for contemporary art darlings but next but I heard from some participants that the person in charge this year was brutally incompetent, unfortunate:
