BOOKS & LIT | Playwrights Canada Press Spring Launch
Playwrights Canada Press holds its spring launch tonight at Revival with readings from new works. Maja Ardal, an Iceland-born Canadian playwright holds the 2002 George Luscombe Award for Mentorship in the Theatre, will be reading from her latest, "The Cure for Everything," while award-winning Nova-Scotian playwright Catherine Banks will be sharing "It Is Solved by Walking." In addition, Ronnie Burkett, a puppeteer since the early age of fourteen will read from his latest celebrated work, "Penny Plain," and two-time Dora Mavor Moore Award winner Anusee Roy will read from "Brothel #9." Jon Kaplan and NOW Magazine's Susan G. Cole are this evening's hosts.

FILM | Early Monthly Segments
Early Monthly Segments showcases the work of a different historically significant experimental and underground filmmaker every month. This month's instalment will focus on the work of British filmmaker Nicky Hamlyn, who began making experimental and avant-garde films in the late '70s, and is also well known for his writings on the subject of film and cinema. A selection of three films will be shown tonight: "That Has Been" (1984), "White Light" (1996), and "Tobacco Shed," shot in Italy in 2010.

PHOTOGRAPHY | Artist Talk: Adi Nes
Tonight, Israeli photographer Adi Nes talks about his work, his perspective of Israeli society and culture, and its impact on his art. Nes' photography has appeared in Vogue, The New York Times, and other notable publications, with homoeroticism and war serving as recurring themes in his work. He will be introducing his latest work, "The Village," which is slated to premiere in New York and Paris in 2012.

BOOKS & LIT | Rowers Pub Reading Series
This great reading series in a lovely and casual setting aims to showcase both established writers and promising newcomers to the literary scene in TO. A popular event among those involved in the writing community and devoted readers looking to stay current, tonight will feature readings from Alexander MacLeod, E. Russell Smith, and Heather Spears. The Rowers Pub Reading Series is a regular event that takes place on the first Monday of every month from October to June.
