Radar: Journey with Foreigner, Pollock at the Revue, Poked Surfaces, The Tourist Free Screening, Polaris Music Prize Record Salon

MUSIC | Journey with Foreigner and Night Ranger
The band that has been together for 38 years and has had nearly 10 band members come and go just can't stop believing. Journey is back on tour and makes a stop in Toronto tonight with a live performance at the Amphitheatre. Touring with their 14th studio album ECL1P53, this San Francisco band joins legendary artists Foreigner and Night Ranger on stage to drive '80s rock fans wild. Expect lots of big hair and songs that make you nostalgic for childhood.

FILM | Pollock at the Revue
As a complement to the AGO's opening of the Abstract Expressionist New York exhibit, The Revue will be screening Ed Harris' 2000 film Pollock tonight. A film about the famous AbEx American painter Jackson Pollock, the script has been heralded for its accuracy in telling the story of the life and career of the troubled artist. Elizabeth Smith, executive director of curatorial affairs at the AGO, will introduce the film, which stars Marcia Gay Harden and Ed Harris as Pollock (who received an Oscar nomination for his role). Free passes to the AGO exhibit will be given away at the screening.

ART | Poked Surfaces
Artist Laura McCoy opens her latest exhibit Poked Surfaces this evening at V S V S V S, a collective studio and gallery in Toronto's Port Lands. A combination of video, performance and drawing, McCoy, a seasoned performance artist, examines abstraction with a holding technique. McCoy uses contrasting colours and scribbles in her drawings to invoke imagination and performance art will provide an interactive experience at the exhibit. Stop by to see what the self-taught artist has achieved by applying art to all mediums.

FILM | The Tourist Free Screening
Sadly, it's that time of the year: This evening marks the final outdoor free screening at Harbourfront Centre. Tonight's film is the audience nominated 2010 film The Tourist, starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. This action-adventure story brings the theme of cities of love to Venice, where Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck directed the Golden Globe nominated film. This is your last chance to watch a free screening by Lake Ontario until next June so come out and enjoy it before summer slips by!

MUSIC | Polaris Music Prize Record Salon #6: HEY ROSETTA! Seeds
Tonight, Polaris jury member and MuchMoreMusic host Matt Wells will present HEY ROSETTA!'s 2011 album Seeds in consideration for the Polaris Music Prize. Each month at the record salon, a new contender is introduced and tonight's band is St. John's indie rockers HEY ROSETTA! The band's 3rd album will be played in its entirety for audiences and frontman Tim Baker will be present for a live interview.
